Graduate Research Assistant
Anika Aquino is a doctoral student in the Applied Developmental Psychology program at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Spanish. Anika also received her Master’s degree in Applied Developmental Psychology at UMBC. Anika’s research interests focus on early childhood care and education, particularly among immigrant families and families of color. She is particularly interested in understanding unique processes that occur within these communities, such as acculturation, enculturation, racial-ethnic socialization, and biculturalism. Anika is currently involved in the SAFER project.
